Global Rhythm is a colourful celebration of worldwide music and culture. Enjoy three stages offering something for everyone; live music and performances from the Martin Burley Peppery Stage, the Missile Sound Stage and the Global Village Stage.
This event always promises to be entertaining with fairground rides, cultural catering, a craft market and more. You’re invited to enjoy a wide array of live music, art and food from across the globe as Ipswich’s annual free festival returns to Christchurch Park showcasing the very best of roots music and dance.
Missile Sound Stage:
- 1pm – 80’s Flashback (Soul)
- 1:30pm – Reggae Dancehall Extravaganza
- 2pm – Kids Zone
- 2:45pm – Jade May Jean Peters
- 4pm – Soca Zone
- 4:45pm – Dancing Competition: 1. Miss Tiny Winey, 2. Dancehall Contest

Martin Burley Peppery Stage:

Singing Safari, led by choirmaster Chris Rowbury, around 30 Ipswich singers have been on an imaginary Singing Safari to collect exotic songs from around the world especially for Global Rhythm day. They have been beavering away for six weeks and will be sharing what they’ve learnt in a free half hour set at the Global Village at 2pm.
Global Village, run by Ipswich Community Media is now a regular addition to the Ipswich Festival scene. ICM is based on Norwich Road, delivering EOSL English lessons, radio music and media & works with IO radio to run projects and community development, giving everyone the chance to express themselves fully.
This year we will be holding free workshops including percussion and storytelling in the Mansion, open to all ages and abilities. Come and try something new!

On-site parking is available at £5 per car, accessible parking for blue badge holders is free of charge.
