Antiques Roadshow at Christchurch Mansion
Could you own a missing masterpiece or a priceless treasure? Even if your attic is bare you won’t want to miss Fiona Bruce and the Antiques Roadshow team when they film at Christchurch Mansion this summer. The team of experts will be on hand to help visitors discover the hidden history of their objects – you never know, it might just be your item that turns out to be something very special!
Thousands of people come to each Roadshow filming day hoping their car boot bargains and family heirlooms are missing masterpieces or priceless treasures – or they come along just to soak up the atmosphere.
Entry to the Roadshow is free, everyone is welcome, and no tickets or pre-registration is required. The event will go ahead come rain or shine – so please come dressed for the weather….
Visitors are welcome to turn up on the day, but they can also share their stories about special items they are bringing along on the Antiques Roadshow website.
We will be looking for at least 50 volunteers. The volunteer stewards will help to make the day run smoothly by helping out in various ways, including assisting the management of visitors, help with the running of the waiting room for those being filmed, monitoring restricted areas and aiding with the provision of refreshments for the Specialists at their tables. This will be a great insight into how this programme is produced! Volunteers need to be over 18 and able to attend a briefing on the Saturday afternoon and the Roadshow on the Sunday – please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in volunteering.
There will be on-site car parking available through the Westerfield Road Gate of the park. There are several Ipswich Borough Council car parks available throughout the town centre. You can find a full list here.
